Trauma-Informed and Relational Care for Libraries - Part 2 April 3, 2025 This is a two-workshop series to introduce trauma-informed care tools. The first workshop will focus on what is and isn’t trauma-informed through a set of reframes. We will then focus on how to better navigate shifting power dynamics from a lens of liberatory power by examining the trauma-informed reframe: Power Over to Power With.

In the second workshop, Nisha will focus on the impact of feelings and needs in your everyday work life, and she will introduce trauma-informed communication strategies based on her Trauma-Informed Communication Framework.

Cancelled. Mental Health First Aid Training Opportunity for Region 2 Network - Session 2 April 3, 2025

NNLM Region 2 will be hosting a virtual Mental Health First Aid Training class on April 3rd from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. EST. There are two parts to the virtual training: 2.5 hours of self-led online pre-work required 48 hours prior to the start of the live Zoom session and 5.5 hours of live virtual training on April 3rd via Zoom 8:30 a.m.-2:30p EST (this includes a 30-minute lunch break)

This class can support 30 participants. If this training reaches capacity, a waitlist will be created for further training opportunities in Spring 2025. Training will be provided by Amanda Sammons at the Medical University of South Carolina. For questions, please email region2@nnlm.com.

This session is reserved for participants in the Region 2 states and territories of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
