Region 6 Partner Outreach Program (POP) Community Focus Award $14,999

The Partner Outreach Program (POP) Community Focus Award is a short-term, supplemental award to support the outreach of the fifteen established NNLM Region 6 Partner Outreach Program (POP) Ambassador Organizations.

    To be eligible for this award, the organization must be an established NNLM Region 6 Partner Outreach Program (POP) Ambassador Organization.

    The award is up to $14,999. Applicants are not required to budget to the maximum amount. You can request less. Only budget what is justifiable to produce a Community Health Information Assessment Report within the three-month performance period.

    Professional Development Award $1,500

    The Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) Region 5, under cooperative agreement with the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM), announces the availability of funding through Professional Development Awards to increase knowledge, skills and competencies of NNLM network members on areas related to NLM priorities.

    Network member organizations in Region 5 are eligible to apply. Only one award per Network member organization will be made during the current grant year. Awards will be available on an ongoing basis until funds are depleted. Payment will be made to the applicant’s host institution.

    To receive funding, applicant’s institution must invoice the University of Washington (UW) no later than March 18, 2022. In order to invoice the UW, the institution must be registered as a UW supplier (for information on registering, see UW Supplier Registration.

    Expert Speaker Award $2,000

    The Expert Speaker Award supports an expert speaker to train staff or present at a conference to increase the use of NLM resources, keep current on topics related to NLM priorities, and build health information capacity for our network members.

    NNLM Region 4 Community Engagement Ambassador $50,000

    The purpose of this award is to fund a community engagement ambassador who is able to assist and advise the NNLM Region 4 team design strategies that increase our ability to develop meaningful connections with various priority populations within the region.

    Program Improvement Award (Round II) $10,000

    Purpose of these awards are to support short-term projects that involve program improvement to advance access to health information resources.

    This award is administered through the Eccles Health Sciences Library at the University of Utah with funds from the National Library of Medicine (NLM), National Institutes of Health (NIH) under cooperative agreement number UG4LM012344.

    Data Science and Services Project Award $25,000

    The award’s primary aim is to focus on projects that stimulate innovations in biomedical knowledge or data science, information, or research services. The programs are intended to help a variety of users, with a focus on minority and other underrepresented populations and the health professionals who serve them, make the most effective use of information and decision-support resources that hold the promise of promoting healthy behaviors, preventing costly and debilitating illness, and improving health outcomes when disease occurs. Project should be in support of the NLM 2017-2027 Strategic Plan.

    The purpose of the Health Information Outreach Award is to provide support for projects that improve health information literacy and increase the ability of patients, family members, students and members of the public to find and use health information; or improve health professionals’ access to, awareness of, and skills for locating high-quality biomedical and health information. Awards should focus on building partnerships, collaborating with local community groups, and other key groups to reach underserved populations in the region with health information outreach projects.
