Yoga, Social Justice, Redefining Body Image and Personal Power:
In this series you'll learn how to deconstruct the values, norms, and perceptions that guide the current western view of yoga, beauty and success. We will explore these poignant topics through in-depth, open forum discussions, practical hands-on asana labs, and interactive yoga practices.

The sessions will be lead by Dianne Bondy, a social justice activist, author, accessible yoga teacher, and the leader of the Yoga For All movement. 

Her inclusive approach to yoga empowers anyone to practice—regardless of their shape, size, ethnicity, or level of ability. Dianne is revolutionizing yoga by educating yoga instructors around the world on how to make their classes welcoming for all kinds of practitioners.

Change Agent in Modern Yoga
Dianne’s commitment to increasing diversity in yoga has been recognized in her work with Pennington’s, Gaiam, and the Yoga & Body Image Coalition, as well as in speaking engagements at Princeton, Duke, University of Buffalo and UC Berkeley on Yoga, Race, and Diversity. Session 2 (February 16): Are you a bigot?
Redefining your understanding: Racism and you. In this module we begin to unpack social messaging and socialization around body image using practical methods and strategies that you can easily employ in everyday life. You will learn how to reclaim a more powerful understanding of who you are and how you show up in the world. You will leave this interactive discussion and asana practice with actionable tools that will help you take your yoga off the mat and into your community.
