October is Health Literacy Month! In celebration of health literacy month, please join us in bringing awareness to health literacy.

The hard truths of the pandemic — along with years of injustice and inequity experienced by historically marginalized and underrepresented communities — has positioned health communication at a crossroads. We have relied on traditional communication and marketing "best practices" that do not offer much opportunity for advocacy and are insufficient to move the needle on health disparities.

Please join our two guest presenters, Sandy Hilfiker, MA, CEO of CommunicateHealth and Jaime Dawson, MPH, NIH Portfolio Director, also from CommunicateHealth. The speakers will share real-world case studies of incorporating the principles of the framework into the development of inclusive health materials, digital products, and campaigns, including case studies specific to the work and mission of NNLM.

Objectives:

•    Describe the phases of the equity-centered health communication framework
•    Understand the characteristics of inclusive health communication products
•    Name strategies for developing more equitable and inclusive health communication materials and products

By registering for this class, you are agreeing to the NNLM Code of Conduct
