US Virgin Islands Library Disaster Relief Project SEA

The American Library Association ALA has led the response and recovery effort for libraries in the U.S. Virgin Islands damaged by Hurricane Maria and Irma in 2017. ALA has coordinated with the Division of Libraries, Archives, and Museums DLAM in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Many libraries still need resources to help provide their communities information on health and other topics as they rebuild their lives. Thanks to an earlier grant from NNLM in 2017-18 1600679, ALA was able to provide new computers at the Florence A. Williams Public Library on St. Croix and the Charles Wesley Turnbull Regional Public Library on St. Thomas.
