This 4-hour on-demand class provides an overview of the data sharing process and best practices for sharing research data. You will learn about policies that drive research sharing and become familiar with guidelines that increase the usability of shared data. You will identify desirable characteristics of repositories and related resources that aid in the repository selection process. You will also be introduced to elements of the research data curation process, including metadata creation, documentation review, and data de-identification, that can be incorporated into library services.
This is an on-demand class. All the lessons are open and available to work through at your own pace and on your own schedule. You will engage with the course through learning materials, including readings, videos and knowledge checks. This course is designed as a standalone learning experience, you will not receive instructor feedback on your work.
