3D Printing Basics

Webinar Description: This presentation will cover the basics of 3D printing. Attendees will learn why they might want to purchase a 3D printer and what to look for in a printer. They will also learn what they need to get started in 3D printing and how even a basic 3D printer can be useful in a medical setting.

Speaker Bio: Marlo Brown is a reference librarian at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. He's the liaison for the university's School of Mathematics, Science and Engineering. His interests include freedom of information in the digital age and how libraries can remain relevant in the face of increased digitization of information.

Objectives:

Attendees will understand the capabilities of basic 3D printers, as well as how the technology works. They will also learn about the process of turning a digital file into a 3D object.
