NNLM Carpentries Workshop Series | The NNLM Carpentries Workshop Series will offer several workshops covering different topics. The target audience is learners who have little to no prior computational experience, and the instructors put a priority on creating a friendly environment to empower learners and enable data-driven discovery. Even those with some experience will benefit, as the goal is to teach not only how to do analyses, but how to manage the process to make it as automated and reproducible as possible. Accessibility Workshops have live captioning. |
Open Tools for Data De-identification | The webinar will provide a brief introduction to data science topics and terminologies. Topics will include AI in healthcare, explaining what natural language processing is, and discussing HIPAA privacy requirements and defining PII. This first part will be brief and focus on providing a foundational understanding. The second and bulk of the class will focus on the NLM Scrubber and CliniDeID as examples of NLP models that can be used for clinical deidentification. The class will cover how to promote these tools at the librarians' institution. |
Standardize Your Research Data with the NIH Common Data Element Repository | Do you want to standardize the data you collect so it can be easily shared with colleagues and other researchers? Have you been awarded a grant that requires the use of common data elements? Do you assist researchers with the data research management lifecycle? If any of these scenarios sound familiar, this course is for you! |
Standardize Your Research Data with the NIH Common Data Element Repository – On Demand | This interactive, on-demand course is intended to introduce researchers and librarians to common data elements (CDEs) and how to use the NIH Common Data Element Repository. |
The Research Data Services Landscape: How Do You Start And Where Does Your Library Fit In? | This course is designed as an entry point for people unfamiliar with the field of research data services in libraries. The goal is to introduce what data services librarians work on and to present information on how learners can grow in this area. This includes mentioning other trainings offered by NNLM that would further their studies in data services. Learners will be able to describe the type of work done in data services and the subtopics found in data services. |
