|Building Reference Skills for Nursing and Allied Health Research||
This 3 week, 4 credit-hour self-paced online class is designed for library staff who support, or want to support, nursing and allied health professionals with NLM resources. This class provides an introduction to the professions of nursing and allied health, and explores NLM databases used by health professionals such as PubMed, LactMed, MedlinePlus and DailyMed. The class concludes with learners developing their own plan on how to use this information in their work. Expect to spend about 4 hours learning in this class.

Learn about NLM resources that provide drug and chemical information for consumers and healthcare professionals, from interactions to adverse effects to clinical trial results. Your progression through this course can be tailored to your learning needs. Complete all 3 sections for an in-depth introduction to NLM drug and chemical information resources, or complete 1 or 2 of the sections for your specific population or commonly received questions.

As modern medicine extends people’s lives, it also extends the last stage of their lives, leading to a number of care decisions people must make as they approach death. This 3 week, 3 credit-hour, self-paced online class covers topics and information resources for navigating these end-of-life health issues, with the goal preparing information providers to equip people with tools and resources to plan for end-of-life care that is consistent with their wishes and values.
