Understand the big picture of health data standards and how they are used, including relevant National Library of Medicine (NLM) products and services, in this 1 hour, on-demand, online class. Expect to spend 1 hour learning through videos and exercises.   

Objectives

The objectives of this course are for students to be able to:

  • define and explain the function of electronic health records (EHRs), interoperability and health data standards within Health IT systems, and
  • identify the application of the most highly used or influential medical terminologies.
