Region 4 Funding Recipient Press Kit

Congratulations on your NNLM Region 4 award! This guide is designed to assist you with basic publicity efforts, which can spread awareness about the meaningful work you are doing in your community. Should you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at region4@nnlm.gov.

Issuing a press release announcing your award is a great way to get the word out about your work. We have crafted a sample press release for you to use as a guideline. If you would like for us to provide a quote about your project, please reach out.

  • Keep your press release focused on the funding award and the work you will be doing.
  • Limit your announcement to one page.
  • If you are announcing an event, make sure you include the who, what, where, and when.

Share your press release with your organization's marketing/communications department, your organization's website, and your local newspaper. If your organization creates its own newsletter, reformat the press release to be included as a featured article. Some additional channels to consider:

  • Professional societies
  • Chamber of commerce
  • Local schools or libraries

Social media is a great way to quickly share your news. Your post(s) can also include a link to your press release. We strongly encourage you include an image when you post.

Here are a few sample posts:

  • We’re excited to announce we have received funding totaling $____ from NNLM Region 4 to support our community outreach work! This will allow us to _____ and serve our mission to _____. <link to press release>
