I am applying for the professional grant to attend the Child Welfare League of America’s National Conference for Foster Care in April 2024. The conference will provide educational information for a Community Health Worker which line up with NNLM mission statement of improvement of public health and access to biomedical information. The conference will provide information which will assist the community health worker with providing linkage to resources and information that will allow the caregivers of foster care children to make informed decisions about their healthcare needs. The objective of the program is to empower children, educate the community about challenges that caregivers of foster care children and blended families experience. Advocating for systemic change while encouraging the children to become resilient despite the obstacles. With assistance from NNLM, I can continue to provide the highest quality of educational information available. This conference furnishes me an opportunity to meet others in the discipline, network and build a professional support system, to engage and learn.
