NLM Exhibition host programming for This Lead is Killing Us: A History of Citizens Fighting Lead Poisoning in Their Communities.

The New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State University (NYITCOM at A-State) Library is honored to host the National Library of Medicine exhibition This Lead is Killing Us: A History of Citizens Fighting Lead Poisoning in Their Communities, October 23-December 2, 2023. The librarians of NYITCOM at A-State plan to take this opportunity to educate communities in the Mississippi Delta about the dangers of lead poisoning. We have cultivated partnerships with various entities to showcase the exhibition at their sites, and to provide educational materials from NNLM while there. These locations include: Arkansas State University, the Jonesboro Public Library, Henderson State University, and two public schools in the delta. We plan to distribute book club kits, featuring What the Eyes Don’t See by Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, to these sites, and to keep one for our library.
