Computers in Libraries Conference 2023

At the University of North Texas Health Science Center Lewis Library, we are addressing a perceived need of our students by attempting to add a 24-hour, seven day per week available “chat bot” that can respond to common requests. Creating the chat bot requires analysis of our frequently asked questions, mainly involving healthcare research topics. This analysis can be shareable with other university libraries in Region 3. We believe that having answers to some common questions available for students at any time of the day and any day of the year will increase their educational experience.  And, since our students are preparing for careers in the healthcare industry, increasing their educational experience will increase the quality of the care they give to their patients/clients.  This proposal request is for funds to attend a conference featuring a program called, “Human-Centric AI Parade: Artificial Intelligence & Libraries.”
