NCDS Fundamentals of Health Data Science Learner Application

We invite applicants for the Fundamentals of Health Data Science course. This class is designed to provide information professionals, working in health sciences, with an introduction to data science. The primary goal of this course is to improve your knowledge and skills in data science and enable you to add or enhance data science training and services at your institution. This 10-week course will take place from January 6, 2025 – March 21, 2025. To ensure accessibility, materials created for and used in this course will be compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973

A maximum of 60 students will be selected for the course. Applicants must be currently or previously employed as an information professional, seeking employment as an information professional, or engaged in a degree program in information science to be considered for this course. Registration priority is given to citizens and residents of the United States.

Applicants must fill out all fields in this application, and submit it, to be considered as a student for this course. All applications must be submitted by Sunday, December 1, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time to be considered. Applicants will be evaluated by staff from the NNLM National Center for Data Services based on the two criteria: 1) expressed interest in the subject matter and how it relates to the applicant’s job duties or career goals; 2) expressed ability and willingness to commit to the time requirements of the course, which are estimated at four hours per week.
