Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) - Webinar January 29, 2026 January 29, 2026 NNLM Region 2 proudly presents a dynamic webinar on emergency and disaster preparedness, led by the Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC). This webinar will introduce key concepts of disaster recovery, including risk assessment, preparedness, response procedures, and recovery actions. Participants will leave the training with an understanding of how a disaster would physically impact their collections and how they can be “first responders” for collections salvage.

Presenter Bio -
Alyssa Magnone, Associate Preservation Specialist
From her office in Aiken, South Carolina, Alyssa Magnone provides preservation consultations, training programs, assessments, and disaster advice to a variety of cultural heritage organizations nationwide, with a focus on the Southeast. Since joining NEDCC in 2023, she has completed preservation assessments for a variety of organizations and has led over 45 hours of webinars and presentations. Alyssa also served as the project manager for a series of hands-on emergency preparedness and salvage workshops, presented in Spring 2025. She currently serves on the Southeastern Registrars Association Board.
Alyssa has over a decade's worth of experience working with art, archaeological, history, and natural history collections. She is a 2018 graduate of the Smithsonian’s Heritage Emergency & Response Training (HEART), a 2022 graduate of the Georgia Archives Institute, and completed Library Juice Academy’s Digital Curation Certificate in 2024. Alyssa earned a BA in Anthropology and History from Mercyhurst College and an MA in Museum Studies from the University of Florida.
