Want to sharpen your data visualization skills before the NNLM Data Visualization Challenge kicks off on February 3, 2025? Join us for a series of five one-hour training sessions this February and March! These sessions will focus on building essential skills for creating impactful visualizations using Microsoft Excel.
All data enthusiasts are welcome to participate, although this training is focused on librarians and library staff, regardless of their library type or experience level. Please note that the example data will be drawn from academic library use cases, but the skills you will learn can be applied across various contexts.

Session 1's Agenda:
- Excel Essential: Excel Essentials covers a few basic tips on navigating the workbook and basic features needed when working with data.
- Basics of Functions: The Basics of Functions in Excel covers some common functions for performing calculations and automating tasks.
- Basics of Data Cleaning: Basics of Data Cleaning in Excel covers some tools for identifying incomplete or inaccurate parts of data and replacing, modifying, or improving the data.
