Community Engagement Resource Guide This guide is intended to assist everyone interested in conducting health information outreach through community engagement. Included are tools to better engage and meet the needs of specific communities, as well as examples and templates for easy reference while planning, implementing, and evaluating engagement. 
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion This guide provides a starting point for information and practices to encourage individual and organizational transformation around diversity, equity, inclusion and the practice of cultural humility. The resources provided will challenge libraries to deconstruct systemic barriers impeding an equitable society.
Environmental Health and Justice This guide provides an overview of environmental health and justice tools and resources for the beginner.

Michigan Mental Health Training Kit Mental health is a significant public health concern impacting all demographics in Michigan. According to 2021 data from the National Alliance of Mental Illness, over 1,4600 adults in Michigan experience mental health conditions, while 119,000 adolescents aged 12-17 in Michigan are affected by depression. The Michigan Mental Health Training Kit was created to address this gap. This resource is designed to support librarians, library workers, and front-line library staff across Michigan by enhancing their understanding of both crisis and non-crisis mental health situations. Its goal is to increase their confidence in responding to the mental health needs of library visitors.
Minwanjige Mino-bimaadizi (Eat Well, Live Well)

Minwanjige Mino-bimaadize (Eat Well, Live Well) is a series of four activity books that help fill a critical gap in early childhood learning resources for Native American children. The project focuses on raising awareness of food-associated factors that contribute to physical and emotional health.

NLM Traveling Exhibitions – Region 6 Host Sites Libraries and cultural institutions present inspiring stories about history, society, and medicine to their communities through National Library of Medicine (NLM) Traveling Exhibitions. Curated from NLM collections and available free of charge, these exhibitions explore current themes in public health and connect visitors to trusted NLM health information resources such as MedlinePlus and PubMed. This guide is a list of exhibits that will be hosted by Region 6 organizations through 2025, broken down by state.

Region 6 Partnerships

Region 6 has developed two unique partnerships with members across our region to support the mission of NNLM: to provide U.S. researchers, health professionals, public health workforce, educators, and the public with equal access to biomedical and health information resources and data.

Region 6 State Advisory Groups (SAG) The purpose of Region 6 State Advisory Groups (SAG) is to provide leadership guidance for each state’s outreach and engagement activities conducted by Region 6 staff and Partner Outreach Program (POP) members.
Region 7 Informational Guide The University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, Lamar Soutter Library serves as the Regional Medical Library (RML) for Region 7, which provides programs, services, and dedicated support for NNLM Members in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
