- Serves as NNLM SCR liaison to health professionals.
- Develops outreach programs and services for health professionals with an emphasis on non-physician and allied health professionals.
- Uses a variety of strategies to identify underserved health professionals with an emphasis on non-physician and allied health professionals and training programs.
- Develops courses for health professional continuing education credit.
Edward is the Health Professions Coordinator of the NNLM South Central Region (SCR). Before joining the NNLM SCR, Edward served as an Outreach Education Coordinator for the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler. In this role, he scheduled, coordinated, and managed all outreach events for the Cancer Prevention Institution of Texas Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Grant. He implemented a health promotion program and created the sustainability plan for three historically black colleges and universities in East Texas. He helped establish a food insecurity program at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler campus to better serve the underserved population. Edward holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Texas Health Center at Tyler.
