NLM Web Resources for Hepatitis Awareness Month

May marks Hepatitis Awareness Month, an excellent opportunity to share information about hepatitis.  Hepatitis is a condition of liver inflammation, which is caused most commonly in the US by Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C viruses.  According to the CDC, there’s an estimated 4.4 million Americans living with chronic hepatitis, most not knowing they are infected, and approximately 400 million people worldwide infected.  Speak with your medical doctor about tests, vaccines, and more information on hepatitis.

The National Library of Medicine offers health professionals and the public vetted information on hepatitis through its Web resources.  Feel free to share the information with others who may be interested.

NLM DailyMed: Hepatitis related drug medication information.

RHIN: Hepatitis health information handouts in multiple languages.

NLM Haz-Map: Hepatitis information related to job occupations.

NLM Asian American Health: Hepatitis topic Web page. Hepatitis clinical studies around the world.

NLM MedlinePlus: Hepatitis topic Web page.
