NAHRS Honors Committee Award for Professional Excellence: Request for nominations letter & recognition for lifetime professional contributions
The Honors Committee seeks nominations for the Nursing & Allied Health Resources Section (NAHRS) Award for Professional Excellence. This award recognizes a NAHRS member who exhibits outstanding leadership and exceptional librarianship in meeting the information needs of nursing and allied health professionals. The nomination may be made for service and contributions to the information needs of nursing and allied health professionals as demonstrated by excellence in leadership and librarianship, a history of professional publications, conference presentations and participation in NAHRS and MLA. The nominee must be a member of MLA and a member of the NAHRS Section. For additional details, see the nomination form at http://nahrs.mlanet.org/home/awards/. All nominations must be received no later than December 1, 2012. The recipient receives a $100 cash award and will be recognized at the 2013 NAHRS Annual Business Meeting.
The Honors Committee is also responsible for collecting names of retiring (or recently retired) NAHRS members for the Recognition for Lifetime Professional Contributions Award. This is a non-competitive award; names are forwarded to the NAHRS Board who make the final decision on recognition. We would appreciate receiving names of retirees PLUS a brief statement of their contributions to the profession and the association.
We know that many NAHRS members are doing great work, and invite you to take this opportunity to help them be recognized. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Jan Rice (email@example.com) off-list.
Thank you for your recommendations.
