National Training Center and Clearinghouse Teaches Classes at the HAM-TMC Library
The National Training Center and Clearinghouse (NTCC) will be offering two classes at the Houston Academy of Medicine-Texas Medical Center Library:

8:30 am – 5:00 pm
Class Description: This full-day class is designed to teach students how to use PubMed which includes MEDLINE citations. The class also includes an overview of the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) and its importance as a tool to both searchers and indexers. This class carries 7.5 hours of MLA continuing education credits.
NLM Training: NLM Gateway & ClinicalTrials.gov

Class Description: This half-day class is designed to teach students how to use the NLM Gateway and ClinicalTrials.gov. NLM Gateway is a web-based system that lets users search simultaneously in multiple retrieval systems at NLM. It allows users of NLM services to initiate searches from one web interface, providing “one-stop searching” for many of NLM’s information resources or databases. ClinicalTrials.gov lets users search for regularly updated information about federally and privately supported clinical research in human volunteers. This class carries 3.5 hours of MLA continuing education credits.
