HRSA Grants for Rural Telehealth Programs

HRSA (Health Resources and Services Administration) recently announced the availability of grant funding to help rural health networks strengthen their capabilities to better serve communities. Funding priorities will be given to telehealth, new emerging technologies, and for oral health and mental health needs. The estimated total program funding is $1,000,000 with 5 awards averaging $180,000.Applicants must be public or non-profit entities, and other eligible applicants are listed in the full announcement. Funding preference will be given to those applicants that are in health professional shortage areas, medically underserved communities, or serve medically underserved populations that focus on primary care, wellness, and prevention strategies. Existing networks that wish to expand services are not eligible to apply.

The closing date for the application for (CDC-RFA-HK06-60) is November 02, 2006. The projected award date is May 01, 2007 with the estimated project end date of April 30, 2010.
