From Beyond Our Borders: Providing Multilingual and Multicultural Health Information

Join us for a 4 week self-paced, asynchronous introduction to cultural competency and humility, the unique health information needs of refugees and immigrants, and relevant health information resources. The class will be taught via Moodle and includes short readings, videos, and activities. This class has been approved for 4 hours of continuing education credits by the Medical Library Association and is eligible for MLA Level I and Level II CHIS.

NNLM All of Us National Program Launches May 6 - Get Involved!

Join us to learn about the NNLM All of Us National Program. The NNNLM have teamed up with the NIH’s All of Us Research Program to raise awareness about the new organization and we want you to be a part of the action! The NIH’s All of Us Research Program is a historic effort to gather data from one million people living in the United States to accelerate research and improve health and is officially launching on May 6! In this webinar we will cover ways you can participate in the launch and other opportunities to get involved.

This 4-week 12 CE online course is designed to provide public library staff with the foundation (or a refresher) of health and wellness reference, programming, and outreach for their communities. New content is released each Monday. Each week will involve some reading, discussions with your classmates, and a short (2-pages or less!) assignment.

Food for Thought: Exploring Nutrition Information Resources

Join me for a self-paced course on nutrition information resources available through government resources such as the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the National Library of Medicine (NLM). This course is scheduled in November to accommodate Thanksgiving themed content surrounding this food-focused holiday.

Serving Diverse Communities

Serving Diverse Communities is a three-part series of trainings on accessing health information resources related to working with diverse communities. Each training session is offered individually, and attendees can choose to participate in one or all sessions. The trainings are offered on-demand and can be completed in one sitting or over several sessions. Each training session will offer 1 hour of MLA CE upon completion.

The purpose of the Research Data Award is to support projects that demonstrate innovation in biomedical data management or support research data services.

Professional Development Award

The purpose of the Professional Development Award is to assist individuals working in GMR Network member organizations to enhance their ability to use NLM resources or keep current on topics related to NIH initiatives.
