New HMD Exhibition Banner Show–The Henkel Physicians: A Family’s Life in Letters
The Henkel Physicians: A Family’s Life in Letters features the National Library of Medicine’s collection of the family correspondence of a remarkable family of doctors in 19th century Virginia. The letters document the working lives of the Henkel physicians as they share medical cases, professional rivalries and the experience of the Civil War.
Similar to other NLM banner exhibitions, this exhibition consists of six light weight, easy to assemble banners measuring approximately 3’w x 7’h and travel in two convenient shipping tubes. The exhibition is available free of charge with borrowing institutions asked to pay for incoming shipping only (approximately $200-$500). For more information about the banner exhibition, people can go to the NLM website. For more information about the Henkel Family, please visit the NLM History of Medicine website.
