Search Term Highlighting in PubMed

A new feature was released today in PubMed that bolds a search term in the search results list. This is true even when a user is not signed into My NCBI. If they are signed into MyNCBI, the search term is highlighted if highlighting has been turned on. If the user has not turned on highlighting, the terms will be bolded. The trick to all this is that the search terms that are highlighted will include any of the associated exploded terms or mapped terms that go with the term that the user put in. This will be the default setting.

An article in the NLM Technical Bulletin is now available.
