Express Outreach Award 2009: Arizona Health Literacy Collaboration

The Arizona Health Literacy Collaboration plans to assess the current knowledge base of health literacy and health literacy resources of health care providers and social service personnel in the state and then provide training to this group to increase their knowledge on the topic and available resources. A train-the-trainer model will be used to empower the participants to return to their agencies, clinics, and health care settings to conduct training sessions for their respective personnel and/or clients. The training materials developed and other health literacy resources will be compiled in a web-based toolkit to provide access to all Arizona residents and providers to the information with a goal of improving health outcomes for the residents of the state
