Mission & Goals
The mission of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NNLM) is to:
- Advance the progress of medicine by providing U.S. health professionals with equal access to biomedical information
- Improve individuals' access to information that enables them to make informed decisions about their health
The Regional Medical Library (RML) will coordinate the operation of a Network of Libraries and other organizations to carry out regional and national programs. The RML will ensure a continuity of quality service for core programs of the NNLM, and cooperatively design, implement and evaluate innovative approaches to serve the health information needs of health professionals and the public in the future.
Regional Medical Library
The UCLA Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library is the Regional Medical Library for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Pacific Southwest Region. The Pacific Southwest Region includes the states of Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Nevada, and the U.S. Territories in the Pacific Basin.
