Professional Development: Librarian's Guide to NCBI, Louden

Award allows librarian to attend A Librarian's Guide to NCBI in Bethesda, April 2014. Awardee statement: This course provides knowledge and skills for librarians interested in helping patrons use NCBI molecular databases and tools such as BLAST (for sequence similarity searching). UW Health Sciences Librarians are the primary people who provide support for people using PubMed. As an extension of that service and expertise, it would be very valuable for HSL librarians to also be able to provide educational and research support using other NCBI databases.
