NNLM Reading Club Presents... We Live for the WeDani McClain and Andrea Collier discussed McClain’s book, We Live for the We: the Political Power of Black Motherhood and how Black mothering is an inherently political act: Black women are more likely to die during pregnancy or childbirth than women of any other race; Black mothers must stand before television cameras reminding the world that their slain children were human beings. The Digital Doctor in the Age of COVIDAuthor Dr. Robert Wachter, Chair of the Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, and one of the nation’s most influential physician-executives, discussed how digital health and health technology have evolved since his book was published in 2015 and what patients need to know in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
