Meet Tony Nguyen, the new NNLM Southeastern Atlantic (SEA) Region Executive Director
Please join us in congratulating Tony Nguyen in being selected as Executive Director of the NNLM SEA since June 11, 2018! As the Executive Director, Tony will provide leadership, development, and administration of all programs of the regional services plan, from planning through evaluation phases. Additionally, he will oversee the effective participation of the SEA network members in activities of the NNLM. The NNLM SEA regional medical library is located at the Health Sciences and Human Services Library at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
Tony has a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese and International Studies from The Ohio State University. Since receiving his MLIS at Kent State University in 2010, Tony worked as a hospital librarian where he liaised with physicians, residents, and pharmacists supporting research of the Graduate and Continuing Medical Education Programs as well as conducting research during clinical rounds and supporting the development of the hospital’s consumer health library. Tony joined the NNLM SEA in 2014 as the Outreach and Communications Coordinator for the region. He then transitioned roles to support access, technology, and research data management. As a coordinator, Tony gave a number of classes, presentations, and webinars on a variety of topics like minority health, evidence-based practice, and data visualization.
Tony is a Senior Member of the Medical Library Association and currently Technology Editor of MLA News. He also serves as Chair-Elect with Mid-Atlantic Chapter of MLA.
