Congratulations to Jerry Sheehan who has been named the new NLM Deputy Director effective July 31, 2017. He is a great friend of libraries and librarians and has built effective relationships with key NLM partners.

In his role as NLM Deputy Director, Jerry will share responsibility with the Director for overall program development, program evaluation, policy formulation, direction and coordination of all Library activities. In addition, he will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Library and, in the absence of the Director, will assume full responsibility for all functions performed by the National Library of Medicine.
