Fall 2020 #citeNLM Wikipedia Edit-a-thon to Focus on Maternal and Child Health
The Fall 2020 #citeNLM Wikipedia Edit-a-thon will run from October 1-31, 2020 and will focus on improving articles related to Maternal and Child Health. The virtual edit-a-thon will be held all day on October 29 and will engage the NNLM community in adding reliable citations and information from the National Library of Medicine (NLM).
The objective of the bi-annual #citeNLM campaign is to use NLM trusted resources to improve the credibility and content of Wikipedia’s health topics pages, which are visited a staggering 7 billion times each year.
Participants do no need experience to contribute to this effort. On Friday, September 25, NNLM will offer hands-on training that covers the importance of Wikipedia, how to add NLM citations to articles, and how to participate in or host a #citeNLM Wikipedia edit-a-thon. Training attendees are welcome to host their own in-person events at their institutions anytime throughout the month of October.
