Stop Lyme

The need to raise awareness about tick-borne disease continues to be essential to eradicating it, especially in Massachusetts, where case counts are still among the highest in the nation. Science on the subject is still unfolding, making up-to-date information crucial to making good decisions about disease treatment and prevention. When it comes to disseminating health info1mation, public librarians are well-positioned to analyze their community's needs and interests and make this information available. Local initiatives easily scale to providing statewide impact. This Community Engagement project is designed to disseminate authoritative information about Lyme and other tick-borne diseases using a wide variety of formats; and to demonstrate that libraries can assist the Commonwealth in distributing state information to the public.
