Research & Data Management

Data Science Supporting Biomedical Research

The New England Region Research & Data Management Program provides resources and professional development opportunities for Research & Data Management and data science librarians who are supporting biomedical research. Resources such as the Research & Data Management Portal for Librarians provides web based tools and information to help information professionals effectively participate in networked science by collocating resources on education, outreach, and collaboration, as well as current practices and Research & Data Management news. Professional Development opportunities such as the Research & Data Management Symposium, RDM Roundtables and Science Boot Camp provide opportunities for in-person formal learning modes and networking.

eScience Forum

The University of Massachusetts and New England Area Librarian e-Science Forum encourages New England region libraries to collaborate and support e-science initiatives at their institutions. In 2019, the forum is taking place in lieu of the e-Science Symposium. Featuring presentations by nationally recognized leaders in the e-Science arena, the Forum is an educational opportunity for librarians to learn about e-Science resources and current initiatives. The forum also provides an in person meeting where librarians can discuss new library roles for engaging research communities and supporting networked science. Materials from the 2009-2018 Symposiums can be found in eScholarship @UMMS.
