NIEHS Kids Pages 
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Kids' Pages is a government (non-profit) educational website authorized by a 1997 Presidential Memorandum. It is designed to teach children about the connections between their health and the environment.

If you are giving a presentation about an environmental health topic or just looking for general information about environmental health research or the Institute, this page will help. Fact sheets and brochures are also available free of charge by mail.

Health Campaigns and Materials from Reputable Agencies

Use this resource as a way to learn about national campaigns and access curriculum and free resources from National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other reputable agencies. Some materials are available for ordering and others you are able to print directly from the agency web site. Most resources are at no cost, however some agencies do charge minimal fees for their materials. Additionally, some agencies have order limits. Please see each web site for details.

National Institute of Allergey and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)
Locate free pamphlets on food allergy, food allergy management, and cold & flu.

KidsHealth in the Classroom (Nemours Foundation)
KidsHealth in the Classroom offers educators free health-related lesson plans for all grades and subject areas. Each Teacher's Guide includes discussion questions, activities, and reproducible handouts and quizzes – all aligned to national health education standards.

BAM! Body and Mind (CDC) 
BAM! Body and Mind is an online destination for kids created by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Designed for kids 9-13 years old, BAM! gives them the information they need to make healthy lifestyle choices.

BAM! Classroom Resources for Teachers (CDC)
BAM! Body and Mind also serves as an aid to teachers, providing them with interactive, educational, and fun activities that are linked to national education standards for science and health set by the National Research Council, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Joint Committee for National School Health Education Standards.

The Brain’s Inner Workings: Activities for Grades 9 through 12 (NIMH)
This comprehensive collection of multimedia resources and inquiry-based activities tied to the National Science Education Standards help teachers and students learn about the structure, function and cognitive aspects of the human brain. The packet includes a teacher's manual, student manual, DVD of videos, and a CDROM of accompanying materials.

The Cool Spot (NIAAA)
The Cool Spot was created for kids 11-13 years old by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA). The content of The Cool Spot is based on a curriculum for grades 6-8 developed by the University of Michigan.

Educational Resources for Children (NEI)
National Eye Institute (NEI) offers resources to help children learn about the eye and the importance of eye health. NEI does charge for some of their materials.

School Programs Resources (NEI)
NEI has resources for children, however they do charge a minimal fee for some materials.

It's a Noisy Planet (NIDCD)
The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) sponsors It's a Noisy Planet. Protect Their Hearing. This national public education campaign is designed to increase awareness among parents of children ages 8 to 12 about the causes and prevention of noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL). With this information, parents and other adults can encourage children to adopt healthy hearing habits before and during the time that they develop listening, leisure, and working habits.
