The Network of the National Library of Medicine offers many extensive services in coordination with the National Library of Medicine and regional partners to assist our Members with resource sharing and document delivery. Below are a few that are particularly useful to hospital libraries.
DOCLINE & Loansome Doc
DOCLINE is the National Library of Medicine's automated interlibrary loan request routing and referral system. It provides efficient document delivery service to our Network Members. Loansome Doc is a document ordering feature for PubMed users that is integrated with DOCLINE. It provides a web-based automated method for patrons to request copies of articles from your library.
LinkOut for Libraries
A service that provides access for PubMed users to their library's journal collections, both electronic and print.
For Questions about DOCLINE, Loansome Doc or LinkOut, please contact the NNLM DOCLINE Coordination Office (NDCO).
MARDelivery is a free regional service that enables users to create and send hyperlinks for ILL articles rather than emailing large attachments.
Discounted ILL for Hospital Libraries
This service provides discounted ILL articles from the University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences Library System (HSLS) for hospitals with under 500 beds.
Group Licensing Initiative from HSLANJ
In partnership with the Health Sciences Library Association of New Jersey (HSLANJ), MAR Members have access to a group licensing membership with more than 300 hospital libraries.
NNLM and LM are working to ensure the preservation of, and continued access to, the literature through a national cooperative medical serials print retention program (MedPrint).
