Exploring and Evaluating the Use of iPad Technology in a First Year Medical School Curriculum

iPads loaded with a defined group of textbook applications (apps), study/productivity tools, and medical related apps will be distributed as a pilot project to a cohort of ten faculty and ten students to determine the feasibility, efficacy, and preference for this type of technology in improving access to health and scientific information in the classroom, the initial clinical experience (ICE), and in the student?s self?directed learning. Usage will be tracked, training will be provided, and the technology will be assessed to determine if requiring iPads is a viable technology solution for upcoming student classes. No travel.
