The Library Without Walls: How We Moved Out of the Welch Library Building and Continued to Improve Our Services

There was some interest and discussion created by this presentation at MLA. Jaime Blanck addresses the evolving role of the medical librarian within the healthcare community in her presentation.

First presented at MLA 2013 and sponsored by ClinicalKey, the session recounts her experience with the Welch Medical Library during the past year. As staff members faced the closing of the library building and other considerable obstacles, her team employed new strategies to help continue high quality library services to the campus.

Jaime and her staff found success by becoming informationists. They worked within a more decentralized structure to take the library to physicians, embedding themselves within care teams where they were needed most.”
