Coping with Disasters, Violence and Traumatic Events

Thanks to all who have posted on our Disaster listserv such a rich array of resources to help victims and families cope with the shooting on December 14 in Connecticut. We have consolidated many of these resources, added others, and created a new topic page called “Coping with Disasters, Violence and Traumatic Events. ”You can find this page at

We especially direct your attention to the section on Specific Populations where we have collected a robust set of resources to help teachers, parents and others work with children dealing with violence and traumatic events.  Please consider this a work in progress and we will add more resources as they become available.

Best wishes for a disaster- and violence-free New Year.
