Any library, health-related information center, health department, or other organization who provides access to health information may join the Network. Organizations that are regularly staffed, have an Internet connection, maintain a substantial collection of health sciences materials, and serve health professionals or the public may be eligible to participate in DOCLINE®, the National Library of Medicine's automated interlibrary loan (ILL) request routing and referral system. Members are eligible to receive a membership certificate, are listed in the national NNLM Members Directory, and are given the option of being listed in the MedlinePlus Find a Library.
If joining the Network, each member must:
- designate a local contact person (NNLM liaison)
- agree to be listed in the NNLM Members Directory
- provide basic information on services and/or collections
Membership is free!
The Greater Midwest Region is one of the largest Network regions. Any library, health-related information center, health department, or any other organization whose mission is to provide access to health information may join the network.
