Clinical and Translation Science Awards (CTSA) related Data Services

Clinical and Translation Science Awards (CTSA) through the National Institutes of Health provides a host of data related services that are useful for both librarians and researchers alike. CTSA believes strongly that:

Scientific advances increasingly rely on large collaborations that require sharing of data, resources and expertise among disparate institutions. For data to be most useful, it must be linked in a way that can be easily accessed, processed by computers, and formatted so that people can understand and use the information effectively.

The CTSA program supports informatics tools and data management services across the United States; examples of these services include:

  • Enhancing research connections via Harvard Catalyst Profiles
  • Building research networks at the University of California, San Francisco
  • REDCap: Capturing data for clinical trials
  • Connecting patient reported outcomes to electronic health records using Common Fund’s Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information (PROMIS)
