Are you new to consumer health and/or health sciences librarianship? Do you wish to provide health information services to consumers, health professionals or health professions students via free health information resources and not sure where to start? This 1-hour in-person or online class provides an introduction to MedlinePlus and PubMed: two free, online databases from the National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health. Learn the best uses of these databases, how they interact with each other, and whom to contact when you need help.

  • Learn how to access MedlinePlus and PubMed​
  • Learn to differentiate between the primary uses for MedlinePlus and PubMed​
  • Learn basic navigation of MedlinePlus and PubMed, including their components​
  • Know whom to contact with questions about these and other NLM/NIH resources
