PNR Rendezvous: Libraries Connecting You to Coverage

Class Details

Libraries all over are taking steps to increase consumer education around health insurance and information. How can your library help? This webinar will help public library staff better understand the importance of health insurance literacy, how to promote accurate health information and resources, and how to develop partnerships to advocate for a healthy community. The Public Library Association's (PLA) health insurance education initiative, Libraries Connecting You to Coverage, was part of a national partnership made possible by funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Community Catalyst.

Presenters:

  • Leighann Wood, MSLIS, Program Manager, Public Library Association (PLA)
    Leighann is responsible for managing and supporting PLA’s special projects and grant funded initiatives for health literacy, digital literacy and inclusion and EDISJ.
  • Marina Rose, Adult Services Librarian, Caldwell Public Library
    Marina has worked in public libraries in various positions since 2009. She has been in Adult Services since 2014 and received her Masters of Library and Information Science from San José State University in May 2018. Marina has served on the Idaho Library Association (ILA) board as a student representative and helped plan the ILA Annual Conference in 2017. Her job includes reference services, program planning, collection development, community outreach, and local history research.
  • Anne Bramblett, Assistant Director of Public Services, Austin Public Library
    Anne has ten years of experience working in public libraries. As the assistant director of public services at the Austin Public Library, she is focusing on leading library staff towards engaging with the community more deeply by expanding services, programming and outreach.
