Class Details

PubMed for Librarians: Building and Refining Your Search, is a synchronous online session that includes hands-on exercises. The class will focus on using some of the tools and features built into PubMed that are designed to help you search more effectively. We will explore the Filters Sidebar and Topic-Specific Queries. We will use History, tools in the NLM catalog and the Index to build searches and explore topics.

PubMed for Librarians is made up of six 90-minute segments. These six segments will be presented via WebEx and recorded for archival access.

Each segment is meant to be a stand-alone module designed for each user to determine how many and in what sequence they attend.

The segments are designed to take 1.5 hours each and, if the live session is attended, along with any pre-requisite work completed, will earn 1.5 MLA Continuing Education hours. CE credit is not available for viewing the recording.
