Institutional Library Services in Washington State
This session of PNR Rendezvous will provide an overview of institutional library services in Washington state, including history, challenges, and information regarding services for incarcerated populations. Attendees will find this session informative no matter in which state you reside.
Presenters: Anna Nash, Institutional Librarian and Kathleen Benoun, Library Associate, Washington State Library
Anna Nash is an Institutional Librarian at the Washington State Library. She has worked in public, academic and institutional libraries. While working in institutional libraries Anna earned her MLIS from the University of Washington. She has nine years of experience providing library services to the incarcerated. One of her favorite activities is traveling. Her visits to libraries around the world have influenced her view of the roles and value of libraries.
Kathleen Benoun has worked at the Western State Hospital branch Library for 35+ years as a library associate. The state hospital provides both mental and physical care for 800+ patients. She looks forward to every work day for the opportunity to share the world's art and music and literature with her patrons. No day is ever the same.
