Concrete Recommendations for Cutting Through Misinformation During the COVID-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic presents multifaceted challenges for the US health care system. One such challenge is in delivering vital health information to the public—a task made harder by the scourge of health misinformation across the information ecosystem. For this event, we will discuss recommendations for public health advocates and communication professionals drafting communication campaigns to maximize the chance that timely health advisories reach the public.

Presenter: Joan Donovan, PhD
Dr. Joan Donovan is the Research Director of the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School. Dr. Donovan leads the field in examining internet and technology studies, online extremism, media manipulation, and disinformation campaigns.

How to register for an NNLM class or event:

  1. After you have successfully created an account, come back to nnlm.gov.
  2. Click the green “Log in” button - it is located at the bottom of every page on our website.
  3. Enter your username and password, and “Log in”.
  4. On the class or event page, click the green “Save Registration” button.
