National HIV Testing Day is Friday, June 27

The Seattle Urban Indian Health Institute reminds us that  National HIV Testing Day is an annual campaign to encourage people of all ages to “Take the Test, Take Control.” The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has a fact sheet about HIV/AIDS among American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/ANs):

The fact sheet details information about the number of HIV/AIDS infections, diagnoses and deaths; the challenges that the AI/AN population faces around HIV; and how the CDC is working to raise awareness and provide support in HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment.
