National Native American Heritage Month

This month we celebrate National Native American Heritage Month.  A new online exhibit from the National Library of Medicine (NLM) Native Voices: Native Peoples’ Concepts of Health and Illness, explores health, illness, and cultural life in the lives of Native Americans, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians.

National Epilepsy Awareness Month

November is National Epilepsy Awareness Month. Epilepsy, which affects approximately 2 million persons in the United States, is characterized by recurrent, unprovoked seizures.

Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month

November is National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month and National Family Caregivers Month. In the U.S. alone, there are nearly 15 million Alzheimer’s and dementia caregivers.
