Academic-Community Partnership Conference Series
This announcement solicits NICHD Cooperative Agreement Conference (U13) applications to conduct health disparities-related meetings, workshops, and symposia. The objectives of these meetings will be to establish academic-community partnerships, identify community-research priorities, and develop long-term collaborative agendas. Areas of focus for these partnerships may include one or more of the following community-health issues infant mortality; sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS); violence prevention; techniques for outreach and information dissemination; childhood, adolescent, and/or adult obesity; health literacy; uterine fibroid tumors; and pediatric and maternal HIV/AIDS prevention. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Community Health Leaders (CHL) program each year honors 10 outstanding individuals who overcome daunting odds to improve health and health care, especially to underserved populations in communities across the United States. – The Do Something Awards 2010
Since 1996, Do Something has honored some of America’s best young “world-changers” with the Do Something Awards. Award winners will have identified a problem and have devised clear and measurable methods for addressing the problem; made a significant long-term commitment to improving the lives of others; and cultivated long-term and respectful relationships within their community.
